The Soap

An ancient product able to remove dirt and dead cells from the skin. The term soap means the outcome of the chemical reaction of an oil substance and some alkali, in order to produce the final product (fat acid soap) with active qualities on the surface of it. The oil substance used in the chemical reaction is usually vegetive or animal fat. But we use olive oil from organic agriculture only.

The first reference to the soap, as we know it today in solid form, is made in ancient American Indian' s stories.

The story says: As the Indians were boiling meat, some quantity of meat and fat overfloated and dropped on the ground. There the fat was mixed with some ash from the wood. The Indians used the unknown mixture, out of curiosity, and they discovered it's cleaning power. It is worth mentioning that in the past a similar procedure was used to produce soap. They used ash in combination with vegetable oil or fat. However the outcome was not usually good enough, since the ash did not always have stable results.

In our procedure things are much more simple with the same repeatitive result. Instead of ash we use caustic soda, water and organic olive oil. We must say that, there isn't organic olive oil of poor quality or organic pomace oil.

Otherwise it wouldn't be organic qualified. Another advantage of handmade soaps which many people aren't aware of is the following: During the soap making procedure- mixing oil with caustic soda- is produced soap ester with a high percentage of natural glycerin. Handmade soaps include a high percentage of glycerin (even 10%). The benefit is that handmade soaps can treat the skin better than the trade soaps. This happens because in trade soap's production the thermal procedure is used. As a result the soap, while in liquid form, floats on the surface of the procedure pot and some quantity of water with glycerin remains at the bottom. After that the glycerin is removed through centrifugation and it is sold seperately for cosmetic or pharmaceutical use.

This is the reason why trade soaps cause dryness to the skin. On the secondary hand handmade soaps contain the whole amount of glycerin produced during the procedure.

Handmade soaps are tough with time but soft with your skin. We must point out that the soap made with olive oil has the highest cleaning action of all soaps with any other vegetable oil.

They do not include chemical foaming substances, dead animal remainders, petrol subproducts, artificial colour or substances. At this point we must highlight that foaming has nothing to do with the cleansing ability of a product.

If a product makes a lot of foam, that doesn't mean that it cleans well too. For making trade soaps, artificial foaming ways are used. As a result they mislead consumers convincing them that the foaming product is the best and the best cleaning. Even if that was true, it still is against the ecelogic consiousness, since the more foam a product makes, the more water it needs to be removed.

Handmade soaps do not include substances which harm flora, fauna and aquatile organisms.

They are not animal tested. It is worth mentioning that natural soap can also be used as washing machine powder inside the machine or even as natural insect detergent in outdoor and indoor agriculture without toxic danger.

We know that soap use is limited and up to a point neglected. It is highly recommended by us though to use soap just for once. Try it's cleaning power and enjoy the pleasure you get while a hanmade natural soap treats your skin.

It's up to you!
